Stage
I
Our designs usually start as doodling sketches and scrawled
ideas in a notebook or on an obliging napkin. The core concept
for this design was to demonstrate visually the idea that even
though there are many turnings, there is only one path. The
labyrinth, a single winding path leading to the center, is the
perfect symbol for this concept. |

Stage II
Often as we explore designs, we go wandering into the hinterlands,
playing with type and investigating a variety of concepts.
Here the concept was going in the direction of the labyrinth-as-moon
and the type-as-water, but the very complexity of the concept
was already getting in the way of communicating the central
message.
